I upgraded my ubuntu 8.1 to the latest version 9.5 on my compaq dc5100, the computer would freeze in POST for several minutes then proceed to the BIOS where i had to re-config the BIOS just to get the OS to boot. I used my CD and and reloaded the 8.10 and the problem went away and has not returned, I don't need a solution, i'm very happy with 8.10, i was just passing this along. Thank You.
