This is more of a "worry" post.

Earlier i installed KDE in Ubuntu but it totally hosed my system resulting in my having to reinstall Ubuntu.

Is this a bug/known issue in Jaunty, or was it a fluke? Has anyone else installed KDE in Jaunty and survived?!

Without knowing how you messed things up it's hard to tell whether it would happen again.

I'm running it now, quite pleasantly. I do think KDE is a better experience from a fresh install of Kubuntu than it does if you put it alongside Gnome, but that's just me.

I can imagine so. I've tried KDE in the past, but i actually find it quite daunting to use in the sense that it offers almost too many option for simple tasks like changing a theme or choosing your preferred programmes. It does look beautiful though.
