I have Intrepid right now and would like to do a clean install of Jaunty. I used rsync to copy /home to Back-up partition of an external HD. I also saved markings with synaptic so I can reinstall packages later.
My question is what's the best way to copy /home from Back-up back to sda after I reinstall the OS. I don't want to screw up something.
I used (rsync -av /home /media/Back-up) to copy the home directory. Would I use (rsync -av /media/Back-up/home /) to do the reverse? (There are other directories and files in Back-up.)
