help with win 7 install post jaunty

Hello all, i was wondering if anyone could help me with this. i have a sony vaio pcg-k37 that i recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope on, and i would like to wipe it and install my win7 iso dvd i made and then do a dual boot install of ubuntu. here's my problem, when i went to install win 7 everything went ok, but my screen backlight would not work at all. everything was viewable, barely, but there was no backlight. my guess is that linux drivers robbed the vaio of being able to display anything else?? the bios and inital boot screen w/ the sony logo are lit up though but when it goes to the install screen for windows there's no backlighting. i did not continue my install out of frustration and barely being able to see. i am asking you all here because i never got an answer on a windows forum about this, and i KNOW you all are much better with this stuff anyhow =D>

anyone know how to get this install done with my backlight working?
