I have just upgraded to the new distro and I can't log on. I get asked for my username and password at logon. On my previous distro, I didn't use a logon as I was the only person using my laptop. I vaugely remember setting a username and password, but for the life of me I can't remember what they were.

Is there any way to get round this, or will I have to start again?

Well, I finally got round to sorting it. I remembered my old details, but it didn't help. I figured that because my old password contained special characters, there was some issue with keyboard set up or something. After deleting 9.04 and loosing access to my windows partition (due to GRUB loader issues, Error 17?), I eventualy re installed 8.04 using a disk. I chose a different password, this time without special characters. I started the upgrade process again and it worked. Now I have Broadcom issues again, but that's for another time. At least 9.04 and Windows are working again:D.
