Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop edition visual effects are not working. It worked previously in Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop edition. I have an Intel Mobile Graphic Accelerator.
Could anyone plese help me. It's very boring without minimum visual effects.

There's been a number of reports of issues using Intel Video cards on 9.04. You're far from alone. Search around and you'll find lots of posts regarding solutions.

I had to remove my video card from the blacklist to get visual effects working. Dont know why it is on the blacklist so far it is working.

Folks,
I use Ubuntu 9.04 - 64 and I have a notebook Sony Vaio CR series. My graphic car is Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller.
Well, I did update from 8.10 to 9.04 with no issues, but my "Visual Efects" didn't run. I used the cooking cake posted by bond17_007 and reposted by Kelvrinand and resolved my problem. All the "Visual Efect" run.
Thanks you. :D
PS. Apologize my wrongs in English. :(

I get what you mean. Even though I can live without the visual effects - it's still a neat thing to have. Anyways, I had the same problem and this post solved my problem.
