Hey I'm running 8.04 it's been working alright, until lately. It will start up, log in, then run gnome for about a minute, and freeze. If I try to restart it does the same thing.
Anybody have an ideas?
Thanks,
Dave

run this and have a look at it, see if you notice anything unusual at the time of the crashes, if not, paste the bit around the time of the crashes here and we will see what we can do to help ;)
gedit /var/log/Xorg.0.log

The last thing it says is
Warning: LookupDrawable()/SecurityLookupDrawable() are deprecated. Please convert your driver/module to use dixLookupDrawable().

I think I may have updated the xorg-server last night.. That's probably what's causing the problems. How do I revert back to the old one, in the 30 seconds I have before it crashes.
