View Full Version : [ubuntu] [Solved]Stuck on "Scanning the Mirror"

So far it's been a nightmare. The upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04 didn't work at all.

So I started a new install (I have backups of what matters).

I'm in AUstralia and on the third attempt of a fresh install (AMD64) since 24 hours ago.

The installer's progress indicator gets to 82%, "Scanning Mirror", and sits there. On the current attempt about 2 hours have expired.

I presume that it's due to the mirror being overloaded/ stressed(?)

Very frustrating and dispiriting.

Any help or suggestions, anyone?

TIA

Solved, I think;

Ripped the network cable out. Then did the install. Now past "82%" "Scanning Mirror"

UPDATE: That worked.

Thanks

It took around 10 minutes to finish up the stage. I didn't need to remove the network cable. Just had to be patient.
