View Full Version : [ubuntu] Yet Another Upgrade Problem - Suddenly stops loading person settings

My system is a Toshiba Satellite A205.

I upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04. The system boots, I can log in, and my personal settings are loaded to a certain point, but suddenly it stops. All I see is the wallpaper. It seems there is something wrong with some config file that causes a halt in the loading.

Gnome-Do loads, which can be accessed with Super+Space, and I've been using that to start things, but otherwise, little else get's started unless I start it manually (compiz, nautilus, etc)

Any helpful pointers? Logs I can include to help troubleshooting?

EDIT: My problem may be the same as this one (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1134920), but I am not sure.
