Hi,

I'm shopping for a new motherboard for an ubuntu pc,
and would like to make sure, that everything works
"out of the box", with this motherboard and Ubuntu 9.04.

The motherboards i'm looking at are:

ASUS M3A78 (VT1708B 8 / Azalia Sound)
ASUS M3A78-CM (Azalia - Sound)
ASUS M3A78 PRO (ALC1200 - Sound)
ASUS M3A78-EM (ALC1200 - Sound)

Going with these components:

AMD Athlon X2 7750BE 2.7 CPU
Kingston HyperX DDR2, 800 MHz CL4, 2 GB*
- and an old 250gb IDE maxtor hdd.

So do those boards work "out of the box" and which would be best? - Thanks!

My computer has an ASUS M3A78-CM motherboard and audio output works, but I can't get the microphone to work. (Sound Recorder allows for a tinny recording, with echo, but only when using OSS.)
