That gnome-panel layout is awful.

Oh well, no accounting for taste.


Anyway, I know a few people who would still fall for it.

Big icons + programs shortcuts strewn about the top. Also, if you don't mind, changing the picture in the OP to a thumbnail would help, since no one likes a horizontal scroll bar.

My widescreen can cope, but yeah, not everyone does 1200-by-800.


Anyway, you find this all over the Internet. Popups that scroll up from the corner like a Windows security alert, popups with XP-lookalike window borders, banner ads that look like Win98 alert windows, popups with "Red X" buttons that download and install the viruses, same as if you clicked "OK," the list goes on. (PROTIP: When running Windows, yank your ethernet cable before you close any popups. Also, every time someone doesn't use adblock plus, God kills a kitten.)

I sometimes think I should browse without adblock and noscript for a while, just to remind myself how bad things really are. I don't think I've seen any annoying adverts in ages.

That said, I do feel sorry for site owners with small ads that are just trying to pay the bills. Unfortunately the rest of the internet has ruined it for them.

when i upgraded to 8.10 i did a fresh install, and forgot to install adblock.....:(its a different world......horrible ads everywhere!! and popups! needless to say i instantly jumped on the FF plugin page.

I never get fat no matter what I eat. I don't know why fatasses are always complainin!! :lol:
