I saw online to go from 8.04 to 8.10 that I should go to the Updates tab of my Software Sources dialog and select "Normal Releases", but after the "check for automatic updates", there are NO MORE OPTIONS on that tab.
I am going off the information here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/IntrepidUpgrades
but that does me no good if those options aren't on that tab.

I'm doing this because I "think" I have to go to 8.10 before I go to 9.04.. I'm new, so please be kind. :)

Thank you,
Chris

my bad on the title of the thread, it has the updates tab, just not all the options shown on the page I linked to

Are you using the factory installed Dell remix of Ubuntu 8.04? If so, 8.04 is the most recent version currently available.

If you want to use 8.10 or 9.04, you need to install the "regular" (non-Dell) version from scratch. I can attest that they both work very well (though 8.10 has some audio issues that are an easy fix).

I'll give that a shot, thank you.
