I have a 120GB HDD. 25GB windows install. 60 GB /home partition. Logical partition that takes up the rest of the drive, which is divided into 2 equal parts. One for Ubuntu 8.04 and one for Debian 5. I pretty much only use 8.04, and I want to overwrite the Deb install with 9.04 Ubuntu. Any way to do that from inside 8.04, without burning a CD?

Thanks

There is a method to do this with the alternate cd. I have used it a few times with no problems.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot. I just deleted the debian folders, and edited the boot menu. Soon as the ISO is done in 3 minutes, I'll go for it.

Well, it didn't really work that well. Hung up after loading the install kernel, it kept complaining about not having a CD-ROM, despite the fact that it found the *.iso file. Oh well. Burned it.
