I use youtube a lot. I upgraded with the built-in upgrader to jaunty this afternoon, and now I can't play my vids.

I reinstalled the flash, but nothing. It suggested a problem with Java.

Any ideas how I fix this? Cheers.

Scratch that! The darned thing seems to be working now. An hour of not, and now it is. Just one of those heavy mysteries, I guess...

... and now it's broken again. It stopped after I rebooted.

Any ideas?

Perhaps you should completely purge flash from your system and reinstall it?

close all browsers, start synaptic and search for adobe-flashplugin, right click on it and select mark for complete removal, once its done, do a clean install, hopefully that should fix the problem

The default flash player in Firefox seems to be swfdec and not Adobe. Click the flash icon in the bottom right of the Firefox window and see which flash player it's using.
