I burned Ubuntu 9.04 (32 bit) in Mint using Brasario Disc burning and decided to install it over Mint. The disc boots fine and i get the menu with the options to just boot from cd or install. Any option i choose either stops after the loading bar or just freezes at the menu.

Earlier this week I installed the 9.04 RC i burned in windows and that booted fine and installed, and so did Linux Mint right after that. Now iv burned like 3 discs @ 8x speed of the 9.04 final release and they all have lockups.

Im installing this on an older machine which uses IDE cables on the HDD and CD/DVD drive, if that makes a difference.

Any ideas how to fix this?

It appears installing from a CD was causing the problem, burned the ISO to a DVD and everything went flawlessly.

Ubuntu 9.04 rocks!
