Right, I've been using wubi 8.10 for a few months, and really like it, so I'm planning on going to a full version. My current plan is too uninstall wubi completely, defrag and generally clear up some disk space, then install 9.04 fresh. I know I can use some programs to make wubi into a full version, but it sounds quite dangerous to my precious files, and I don't have a backup HDD. So:

Is there any way of making wubi into a full version without much risk?
If so, how?

Or with my intended method, could I download and burn the disk on a computer with a faster internet connection, then use it on this one?

Thanks. If you need anymore information, ask. I'm fairly new to this.

There is always a risk when working on Partitions that is why it is advised to backup first. If did decide to go with moving your wubi installation to its on dedicated partition then use LVPM (http://lubi.sourceforge.net/lvpm.html)

If you decide to go with this method then yes you can download ubuntu from another computer and burn the iso to disk.
