Install error: No root file system is defined

I used wubi to install on my windows xp netbook. After install and when I boot it seems to nearly complete booting Ubuntu and then I get an error that says no root file system is defined. It also tells me to see the partitioning page (I think). How do I do that? The install seems to blow right by partitioning as if there is no problem?????
