Won't upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04

I simply cannot upgrade the system from 8.10 to 9.04. I tried "alt+F2" and wrote "sudo update-manager -d" but the update manager didn't offer me an upgrade. Any solutions?

don't use the quotes.
sudo update-manager -d

I didn't used them but anyway i have just upgrade it. I switch in software sources to normal releases and now works fine.
