Using Hardy 8.04, I've never had to "activate" a USB mouse...

Thsi ahs been under older hardware such as Dell GX1
HP, IBM, whitebox...
and under the latest hardware, such as Dell GX280 and Inspiron E531,
HP QuadCore Phenom...

Mice were,,,
Logitech, Motorola, Dell, no-name...

Wire, wireless...

They all just worked.

They also all worked under PartedMagic LiveCD, and Puppy Live 4.x,
among other distros...

Some mice require that you have extra software to make them work. Make sure that it isn't required that you run the mouse in windows with this software. If it is, you might have to buy a new mouse, just make sure it is plug and play, requiring no extra software.

sorry, guys/girls, my fault, the mouse works fine, it may have been caught up on something but everything is fine. Thanks for the replies.
