Uninstalling and Reinstalling

Can I uninstall Ubuntu which is my sole OS and reinstall from the CD. I did install it from the CD, but I also installed proprietay drivers from the web for my display and now it is giving me ERRORS and is in horrable state. I am a novice with linux and thought that I could just click away. I now have the pocket guide so that when I can start again I will follow some directions.

You don't really "uninstall" an OS. What you could do would be to boot from the install CD and then simply choose to install again.
When you get to the partitioning section of the install choose the option "Guided - use entire disk". Accept the defaults from there and you'll have a fresh, clean install.

I am also a novice here. I am trying to reinstall from my CD but the system will not give me this option; keeps going back to HD and wants me to boot up in terminal mode (blcak screen like DOS); I accidently deleted multi media files that lost my regular interface; any ideas where to go for advice?
