View Full Version : [ubuntu] Printer problem: blank margin on top of page

April 22nd, 2009, 08:00 PM

My Samsung ML-1610 printer always worked well untill a couple days ago.

When I print a page, it leaves a small space at the top of the page white (about 2 centimeters). This ain't very handy when printing bills etc for clients.

Under Windows, the printer seems to work perfect.

I'm currently running Ubuntu 9.04.

Deleting and reinstalling (Ubuntu finds the correct printer without a problem) doesn't seem to fix the problem.

Anyone suggestions where to look at? (Printer/paper settings all checked)

Kind regards,
Niels R.

Open the cups management interface, http://localhost:631, then click the printers tab, there should be a Set Printer Options button. You can set most printer options by clicking the button.

I have a similar problem (hp 1020) except it leaves about 2 cm at the bottom of every page. It also removes the same amount at the top of every page.
