Old Laptop

I have an Old NEC Versa SX that I am expermenting on. I am new to Linux and I need to figure out how to install the drivers, specifically the display/videodrivers, and where to get them for a Pentium II, 266Mz, 256 ram computer?
Any help would be appreciated.

Puppy Linux is a very user-friendly Linux distro for old computers. It should detect all of your hardware "out of the box" with any luck. A computer that old will probably struggle with Ubuntu, but you might be able to use Xubuntu, a slightly "lighter" version of Ubuntu. Modern Linux distros are very good at auto-detecting hardware.

I'd recommend Puppy Linux or Damn Small Linux on that Laptop. You could also try U-Lite (unofficial Ubuntu-Lite):

Comparison of Linux distributions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Linux_distributions) will give you a large choice. They have also written down what each distribution is suitable for which should be usable for Linux newbies too.
