USB CD Drive not detecting

Dear all,

I have installed ubuntu 8.04 in My PC. I want to install Kubuntu in other partition. But when I was plug in USB CD drive, that drive not all detecting?

I don't believe you'll actually get anything on the desktop until you insert a CD -- at least, that's the way my machine works.

You can check in Places and see if you have an icon for the CD/Dvd Drive.

I installed the ubuntu on my laptop

but when I link my MP3 player via a usb cable, it doesn't work!

who can help me?
