Problem in Ubuntu Installation

Hi to all,

I am installing Ubuntu-8.10 in my PC. When the installation process reached 85%, the installation window skiped and appearing live CD window. when i reboot the system i got grub loading error. I have fixed the error by using Grup command. But I am not Getting expected GUI window for log-in? Can anyone help me to Fix this Problem?

Does it load linux and give you a linux command line or a grub command line?

Usually after copying file, the Ubuntu CD come out from Drive drive asked us to re-boot. But I am not receiving such a msg. after 85% copying it switched to live CD window. Is there any solution to fix the problem?
