Nonsense, Oracle is not going to kill Java.

+1..Oracle will certainly boost the Java development as they themselves have many java application stacks running.

I am only sorry for MysQL which is direct competitor to Oracle

This is one of the things I meant in the last post... I don't think they'll kill the language in itself, but Oracle won't for sure let Sun partner up with anyone... Especially not with their direct competitors. Of course, one could argue Java is open source, bla bla, but believe me, I've been around Oracle for a while now - enough to get their philosophy: if a company poses even a minor threat, buy it and eliminate the competition. Sure, Java itself (i.e. Sun) is not a direct competitor, but a lot of companies built around it are...

Java will keep developing with or without Oracle in the form of openjdk - http://openjdk.java.net/

Mysql may face clamp down gradually but then we have PostgreSQL to migrate to eventually which is arguably a viable if not the better option!

I heard that IBM bought SUN so this came as a big surprise. Oh boy !

But nahh I do not believe that JAVA has anything to be afraid of, people tried to define it as "dead" many times in the past but still JAVA is alive and kicking.
