I have a friend on 8.10 fully updated and she and I have been working on an issue where she will be doing absolutely nothing and all the sudden her cpu load goes to 100% and firefox freezes. I look at her gnome-monitor and it doesnt add up but it does show that the majority is IOWait. WTF is doing this?!

I upgraded to 9.04 and now I'm having the same issue, she has a Dell Dimension 2xxx and I have a Lenovo R500. I took a couple screen shots (I dont know how to submit crash reports as what I found on google it says it should be automated by Apport)

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I am having the same issue on an Asus X51RL. Im running 9.04 and FF 3.0.9.

Firefox will work fine for about 5 seconds, then my screen goes dark and firefox freeze's (cursor still moves and other apps normally work slow but fine). After about 15 seconds it will work again for another 5 seconds.

Thanks,
Dave
