a good idea even:

how about, a debian based distro, geared towards not-so-good-with-computer type people, and also geared towards musicians... ideally, this distro would have music recording software, multimedia support already built in, as in, you could watch videos and such on it without having to dl anything special.... it would have support for lightscribe technology if at all possible, and would have specialised music recording software, it would have all kinds of stuff, it would basically have out of the box support for mics and such, just a geeneral workstation for musicians to record, and produce...

i'll bet that a distro like this would be a HUGE leap ahead for independant music.... is there a distro like this out there, cuz there damn well should be!

There is also a specialised multimedia distro, if you want to record stuff. not sure it's based on debian though. Mepis just comes with all the codecs and multimedia software installed.
I fail to remember it's name.

I also heard the AGNULA people are basing their latest version on Ubuntu but didn't check it out yet.
