View Full Version : [ubuntu] problems installing 9.04 inside windows using wubi

My laptop model number is compaq cq40-133tu. I recently downloaded ubuntu 9.04 rc amd64 and tried to install it inside the windows. but after rebooting, the installing is not continuing. it is saying "ftrace buffer empty". please solve this problem. Also i don't have an internet connection to my system.

Can you try maybe stepping back to a stable version and trying again (Intrepid, or even Hardy)? If this is your first time trying Ubuntu, you might want to stick with the stable versions, then wait a week for Jaunty...

Wubi in 9.04 is a complete rewrite, so new issues are inevitable. See this thread:

I agree with the previous poster. Uninstall the Jaunty Wubi and try 8.10 (Intrepid) or 8.04 (Hardy). Then, if you get problems, there will be more people with experience of Wubi in the earlier versions to help you out.
