Using the synaptic package manager, I installed the kubuntu-desktop with no problems. However, it runs at half the speed of Gnome both on desktop effects and on 3d apps as well.
Running:
kde 4.2
ubuntu 8.10
nvidia restricted driver ver. 180.11
nvidia GeForce go 6150
hp pavillion tx1410us notebook
Any help would be appreciated
