i recently installed ubuntu. my system uses the Intel 945GC Chipset + ICH7 Chipset. I have a SATA HDD and DVDRW drive. I was never able to boot from the SATA cdrom drive. I added a PATA cdrom and was able to install ubuntu that way. The SATA dvd drive is recognized and visible but cannot be mounted. I get either "media not present" or some other similar error. The drive does not even attempt to read the disc. Any help would be appreciated. I've looked around and it seems that this chipset has been causing some problems. The Jetway mobo that I have does not seem to have a "legacy" setting for the SATA. Thanks.
