Hi,

I am running jaunty 64 bit and am impressed, however the latest printer driver hplip 3.9.2 doesn't work properly. When I try and print from the photo tray the printer head prints on the left of the printer and not on the right (where the paper is). The drivers worked in ubuntu 8.10.
I can't force the version of the driver as there is no other version available in the synaptic. I have downloaded the 2.8.7 version .debs from 8.10 and tried to install them but it just installs the latest version (3.9.2). I have downloaded the hp automatic installer for 2.8.7 and tried to install it but it says I need gcc which package manager says I have.
I have also tried putting the paper on the left where the printing head goes to but the printer will not pull it though. I have a hp C6280 printer. Is there a fix to this? Or an means of installing an older driver?

I had the same issue you had. I downloaded the driver from the site directly and installed it.

I have just tried the latest version and this doesn't work. Are you using the same printer? Mine is a Photosmart C6280. I am scanning in annotated lecture slides to print them on 6x4 cards, for revision notes. In intrepid I copied the images into open office with the correct paper size and source set. That would print correctly.

Thanks for the help
