View Full Version : [ubuntu] Ubuntu battery reading

I recently had a peek at the battery information for my laptop's battery and I got some odd figures.

"Product: 900
Status: Discharging
Percentage charge: 79.0%
Vendor: ASUS
Technology: Lithium ion
Serial number:
Model: 900
Discharge time: 5 hours
Capacity: 2% (Poor)
Current charge: 0.6 Wh
Last full charge: 0.7 Wh
Design charge: 33.0 Wh"

This is an Eee PC 900 with a replacement larger Cameron Sino (possible spelling error) battery running Ubuntu 8.10.

My main point of interest and some concern were the last few lines. Even fully charged Ubuntu never reads it above the 0.7 Wh listed. I was wondering if perhaps Ubuntu was getting confused or there was an issue with the hardware.

Cheers for your time.

Found some handy info on this issue. Last post explains much and it seems that this occurs pretty much on most Eee PCs running linux for some reason, fun.

Also the exact details on the Cameron Sino battery just to include all the information necessary.

Cameron Sino

Something of a wasted thread and I apologise, but I hope at least this post will help anyone in the same situation as i am.
