[ubuntu] system crashed after incomplete install [Archive]

Hello.

I rented a server in OVH.

The system is Ubuntu 8.04 Server

I was installing (via ssh) and network-manager-gnome network-manager-pptp AND unfortunatelly during installing packets I lost the connection, connection terminated and installation didn't complete..

Now the server crash few seconds after rebooting :(

OVH has option to run it in rescue so I still have access to files.

What should I do ? Please help :(

Hi Morfi,

what a nightmare. :) My suggestion is to get your data off the system and then do a new install on the system. You probably won't get much luck for your time otherwise.
