I have a single panel in my gnome desktop, the problem is i am not able to do any modifications to it.

No matter wherever i right click in the panel i can just see two options ABOUT and HELP and nothing else, no options, no unlock panel, no move panel, no add panel, no delete panel, nothing.

What should i do???

I am new to ubuntu, please help me.

Go to System > Administrator > Lockdown Editor and select Panel. Then uncheck the check box that says Lock down the panels.

Gnome Lockdown Editor is called pessules. If it is not there, you can install it using the following command:

sudo apt-get install pessulus
