Ok, here is my problem, 3 weeks ago the cpu blew. It was an athlon 1700mgh cpu. For 7 years it ran at 2200mgh.Any way that computer had Ubuntu, XPPro 32. I built 4 core Phenom on a ASUS M4A78 Pro board.I stuck in the old 32 bit hard drive and ran the XPP restore and every thing work fine. I installed XPP 64 on a new sata hard drive leaving 46 gig unallocated behind the new XPPro64.-- Which should I do, Install Ubuntu on the unallocated partition behind the XPPro, or reinstall it back on the separate IDE hard drive it was on on the old computer???
Thanks, deafbus.

In my opinion, if you want a fast system (especially boot up), then use the space on the SATA drive. Your system will suffer greatly from the reduced abilities of the IDE drive. Plus, that drive might be getting ready to die soon also???
