I use Brasero and it's already installed upon a fresh installation of Ubuntu.

What has always worked in every Ubuntu I have used since forever is:
Insert blank disk in burner, go to where I have the iso saved, right click on iso file, choose "write to disc...", select X4 speed, Done!
I usually use torrent download to save myself integrity checking of files downloaded.
And when I first boot the disc, I choose "check disc integrity" just to make sure.
Works 99% of the time for me...
Good Luck!
