it gave me some problems and could not install
later i discovered that package Manager icon on my system tray had changed to a red circle with a white rectangle inscribed in it.
the tip text on the icon advised me to run apt-get on the terminal but i decided to go to my synaptic package manager in
System=>Administration

Open Synaptic: System/Administration/Synaptic Package Manager.

Choose 'Custom' filter from the button at the bottom. Click on 'Broken'.

Right click on the offending package and choose to remove it.
