can EduBuntu be installed like Kubuntu alongside Ubuntu?

is it possible to have edubuntu as a desktop environment alongside Gnome and KDE? I have installed Kubuntu and it was quick and easy but it seems like Edubuntu is a whole .iso that needs to be installed seperately.. is this true?

What do you mean by alongside? You could put it on a separate partition but not on the same partition. Edubuntu is basically normal GNOME Ubuntu plus some extra packages (most likely in the ppa).
