I have an old Dell workstation 420 that came with a single PIII processor, and I wanted to add a second as the mobo accepts 2. So I go to ebay and pick up a second PIII of matching speed (733MHz) for $.99. I just installed it, and now I get a warning when I start up the computer that says I have a "processor mismatch". It's not a fatal error, but it's an error nonetheless. I checked out the BIOS, and it says processor 0 (the original) is a 683, while the new one is a 686. What is the difference here and does it really make a difference? I'm just basically building up this free machine with cheap parts, so I don't want to buy a new mobo or something. If I have to, I'll buy another 686 PIII, but I'd rather not go through the hassle if I don't have to.

Thanks,
Dan
