...and from a graduate student stuck in a web of end-of-semester stress!

I just got started with Ubuntu last night. Already running into problems, as Purdue's WIFI doesn't support Ubuntu. If anyone out there is listening, is within the Purdue-West Lafayette area, and can help me with PAL 2.0 on a Dell Inspiron 12, HELP!!!

@illustria,

Welcome aboard! I'm sorry to say I'm not in the Purdue area, nor do I have any experience setting computers to work on their network.

There are several people in the forums who belong to the Purdue Linux Users Group (PLUG), though. I'll bet one of them can help you out.

Have you already tried the information listed here?

Those instructions work, but PAL is nightmarish, and I'm really not a fan of using VPNs just to connect to the internet. I recommend connecting to PAL2.0, using PurdueLUG's instructions located here:

I've had much success with them. In fact, I've not had any problems with PAL2.0 on my ubuntu XPS after setting them up.

I wish you luck!

Thanks everyone! I did get PAL 2.0 to work. I tried contacting the Linux Users' Group, but no one's replied to my email:( My NM keeps on crashing my OS too! MEEEEEP!
