View Full Version : [ubuntu] installing numpy/scipy in the right location

I have been using Numpy and Scipy with Python on a windows os however when I try and install them on ubunty hardy it creates the files right on the desktop and python doesn't know they are there. How do I get them to install in the right location

Are you installing the python-numpy and python-scipy packages?
They should install in the correct locations automatically.

I am installing the numpy-1.3.0.tar.gz from sourceforge
