View Full Version : [gnome] notify-osd runs at 100% cpu

I'm new to Ubuntu, and I've got a problem in jaunty. Sometimes for no apparent reason, I get the Volume notification panel, that black kinda transparent thing in the upper-right just under the notification icons. It will come on and flicker rapidly, and nothing I can figure out will make it stop. I assume that is related to the fact that a program called notify-osd runs at 100% cpu. The only way I can get around it is to logoff/logon, Am I missing something? Should I file a bug report?

I have this problem also, and it's impossible to use my Linux machine like this.
All the time the black transparent bar is there and I can not type anything.
Also, and that I do not like at all, the CPU is running at 100% all the time.

Please help to fix this, rather annoying, problem. Thanks!
