Hi, folks,
I updated to 8.10 and in doing so I lost the Suspend facility, which I had with Version 8.04. As I log on to check my emails several times a day, without Suspend I have to go through full log on which takes about a minute as opposed a few seconds. It has something to do with NVidia, which I have not been able to configure, despite many attempts.
I would now like to revert to 8.04 and as I see it I could do it in two ways.
1. Fresh install V.8.04 on another empty partition and use that instead.
2 Install v. 8.04 on top of 8.10.
I would prefer option 2, but I am not sure if my personal data will then be lost. Will an earlier installation on top of the later one still give me the option to preserve /home?
Or, has anyone got a better idea?
