Hi folks

I want to install Xubuntu 8.04 on an old notebook and get rid of the existing Win XP; the notebook reads a USB CD drive but cannot boot from it. It has an external floppy. I am following the instructions in ubuntu.com/community/Smartbootmanager.

Step 2.2 says

Use rawrite command: Rawrite –f sbm.bin(rawwritewin.exe sbm.bin)

I get an error message: rawrite is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

(NB sbm.bin is visible in Explorer in F:/install/sbm.bin)

I am new to Linux, and not a techie; so any help needs to be explicit and in words of one syllable (IYGWIM)
