I've been evaluating Mythbuntu 8.04 on a simple development system (P4 3GHZ, 1GB, Hauppauge T500, 8GB disk hanging off wiring!) and have just tried out 8.10 from a CD iso which I downloaded on 28/11/08.
Had to load in safe screen mode as my video mode was unsupported, went through the procedures of selecting language, region, disk partitioning, login & computer name, standard install, and enabling T500 remote.
Files were installed, and the Mythbuntu desktop came up with a promising welcome: "Home Entertainment just got entertaining again" but with the invitation to click the install icon to install permanently.
I duly clicked on the install icon only to go through the whole procedure again and get back where I started.
If I reboot I get: Grub loading stage 1.5. Error 15.
I get the same boot error if I start with the CD again and omit the second install.
Service restored fine to 8.04 with an Acronis restore.
I can't download 8.10 again as the site is down but I think it's the latest version anyway.
Any clues for this novice would be appreciated.
