I've just started using Ubuntu Linux. I have not been able to find some of the essential tools/software that I use in Windows. To wit:

Antivirus software
Antispyware software
Firewall
Clipboard program
Printer support for my Canon pixma 4000
Calendar
I have a program called 'Type It In' which lets you program buttons to insert text (login, passwords, etc)

I'm sure I'll find answers to some or all of these items as time goes by. In the meantime, I'm very leery about being on the Internet.

Welcome to Ubuntu!

For a calendar application you could try evolution
Applications -> Internet -> Evolution

It's mainly a email application but it does have quite good calendar functions.

Hope that helps

You do know 99.9% of the viruses/spyware/adware out there are for windows and have no effect whatsoever on linux, right?

Its the way linux is made: Its more secure.

If you want to listen to shoutcast and Live365 get Streamtuner and XMMS from synapaptic. Streamtuner is a stream brouser allowing you to play them in XMMS wich is as good if not better in ways than WInamp
