With an infection by conficker on my desktop, I figured it was time to install Ubuntu on it.

I burnt a LiveCD and was able to boot to Ubuntu, but wasn't able to install. It kept coming up with errors. I burnt a second one, and a similar thing happened.

I don't know if my problem is with my CD burner or what.

Anyway. I am currently running Ubuntu off of one of the LiveCDs, and I've been able to virtually mount the ISO (off of the windows drive). Is there a way for me to run the install of Ubuntu from this mount?

To check if there's any problem with your CD, select "check CD for defects" on the first screen. If there is no problem with the CD, your computer might have some problems to why it's not installing. In that case, it wouldn't do any good to install it from a virtual ISO.
