Black Scrren after install

I installed 8.10 and went through the install with no problems. However, after I reboot, enter username and password...I get a black screen, and nothing else. Curious to see if anyone else has had this issue as well. Thoughts?

In "About Me" thing, it says that you're using 6.10. You might be using a piece of hardware that is too new for it or something. I'd try a newer version.

There are a heap of posts on this and other forums with blank screen problems.Go through the posts and you may find a solution.Or Google for Ubuntu 8.10 blank screen.It appears there are several causes and solutions.

Opps, didn't see that you had said that you installed 8.10. lol. I had the same problem with one of my screens with my dual-monitor. My problem was the resolution.
