I seriously thought this was going to be some joke about Internet Explorer. I fail.

nope, no joke.

2 votes for downthemall, though.

ok, i have a question, i attempted to use it to download a video i'm in off of facebook. i downloaded everything because i didn't know which option to choose. all i got were html files. i then installed video download helper, first try, i got my video.

maybe downthemall doesn't work like that, for things like that?

Downthemall is built as a tool to download all content off a web page simultaneously, and it doesn't know how to extract flash. It also has a built in accelerator, which is one of the main reasons I use it.

videodownloadhelper +1

with my 24mb ADSL i don't need anything else than a flash downloader/converter, which VDH does great (using ffmpeg)everything else is torrented or plainly downloaded

They even have a linux tutorial (using ubuntu screenshots) on how automate file conversion

For YouTube, the best one is "Download YouTube Videos in HD and MP4 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10137)" and for everything else, I use FlashGot (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/220) combined with DownThemAll (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201).

What about integrated downloader? It's speed up my downloads till 1.7Mb /s

on a 20Mbs adsl line.

I'm not a believer in the so called download accelerators. My internet is fast enough. I download flash video by going to /tmp.
The integrated downloader is my choice. Although I sometimes use wget (if I drag a picture from firefox to a folder it gets downloaded using wget).

Hi Guys,

Video Download Helper.
wget is awesome as it lets you download entire sites or even the whole internet lol.

Since using 64 bit Linux it's been tough to watch youtube embedded so I just use totem to watch the vids.

p.s.

Here's a browser based on mozilla with built in flash support.

I just like using download status bar.

Never saw much need for these 'download accelerators', except for when I was -- *Silenced by FBI ninjas*
