A couple years ago, in the heyday of Ubuntu 6.10, there was a forum, the fridge/backyard/whatever that had some good political discussion. Did it get deleted in my several year absence?

Hi and at the top of the page
"The Community Cafe
The Community Chat area is for lighthearted and enjoyable discussions, like you might find around a water cooler at work.

Almost any non-tech-support topic may be discussed here. Discussions on religion and politics are not allowed, except for politics directly related to free and open source issues. Any topic or discussion that causes problems or drama will be closed. This area is intended for fun and community building, not arguments. Please take those elsewhere. Thanks!"

Yeah, they pretty much killed the fun out of this forum. UbuntuForums is serious business. *needs 'serious' smiley*

I vote for a Rick Astley smiley. That'd be awesome.

But yeah, they took that forum down. There's an alternative made by a member, but I can't recall the name or link.

EDIT: Found it! http://grubbn.org/omgpp/index.php

If political discussions were allowed on these forums I would probably spend way too much time here.

Gentoo Forums have "off the wall" forum with fewer rules than this one. It is not as active as it was once, and the audience is smaller and different.
